A life in art
Chloé Bren Price believes creative expression is the pathway to human liberation, and one must ever evolve and change in order to grow toward peace within. Born on the Llano Estacado, near Pettit, Texas, Ms. Price has done studies in the Americas, Europe, Morocco, China, Hong Kong, Bali, Java, Bhutan, Thailand, and India. Of her New Mexico home, she says, "The openness and 'big sky' of New Mexico has a definite emotional impact on my work. That feeling of freedom is very important to every aspect of my creative process."
A statement by the artist
About her work, Bren reflects, "For me, the freedom of going into another realm where there are no rules, no boundaries, just that oneness of being in process with the creation, is what being an artist is about. . . I want the viewer to become such a part of my work that he is filled with questions, not answers; that he must interpret for himself what is there, and that he will find something in my work that is his alone - a journey of discovery."
Her wealth of experience and study as well as her spiritual approach to her art inform her paintings, prints and jewelry of unique style, producing an eloquent synthesis in her body of work.
